World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading
Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric stats on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades also increase bonuses such as Crit chance and PvE Damage.
If the template for upgrading a weapon is in %, the weapon will gain 3percent of its previous damage every time it's upgraded.
The cost of upgrading an item increases as it reaches the item's current level. The cost increases as the item level rises.
Components
Upgrade components can be added to trinkets, armor, and weapons in order to provide them with a boost in stats or to add an additional effect. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.
Upgrade components are only available to devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to blue level before a component can be used. Like other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied multiple times or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a particular kind of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments can be retrieved by salvaging ascended gear or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.
A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it's applied to (for instance, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). These upgrades are available for purchase them in the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other equipment.
The player is able to have up to five boost upgrades at one time; each upgrade increases the chance that a higher-tier version of the item will appear during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure what will be improved following a reset.
The process of upgrading an item could be expensive, and it is possible that the item will become obsolete or even break in the event that the upgrade is unsuccessful. Upgrade Crystals and assist powder are also destroyed when the upgrade fails. This is alleviated by the availability cash shop items that increase or even eliminate the possibility of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.
Glyphs

When you have the desired Glyphs, you will have to attach them to your equipment. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that boosts a specific set of stat nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats, or +25 to two of your secondary stats.
Glyphs increase the number of nodes connected to them, therefore it is best to put Glyphs in strategic locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance, a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes however, you may also want to consider placing them near critical damage nodes too.
Leveling
The system of upgrading items lets players increase the stats of certain items by placing upgraded components in them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with an amount that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items may be leveled to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.
Certain upgrades require a specific ingredient to activate. This ingredient is obtained by finishing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab in crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe earns some Technology Points. These points can be used to upgrading an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and get its extra bonuses.
When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same kind. This means that the same armor piece will get an weapon or shield once upgraded. The new item also comes with its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage, as it can make the item more expensive, even if you don't require it.
Upgrades to items can be rerolled, if the player has enough tokens in order to do so. The item will be replaced with a brand new one that has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This is useful for some items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it can waste many resources.
Some upgrades can be rerolled multiple times which increases their value and giving players the ability to alter their equipment. One example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player repeatedly enters and leaves the water (or swims like dolphins). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time increasing the maximum roll by 10 points. This item is very valuable in PvP. A well-rolled version could be worth 50 times the value of the unupgraded counterpart.
Requirements
The upgrader for items allows players to increase the level of their equippable equipment (armor, weapons trinkets, and weapons) above ilvl385 by presenting the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the defense base of that piece, while upgrading weapons will increase the base damage and the strength and dexterity required to match the requirements of the upgraded equipment.
All items can be upgraded up to five times, except for hero gear which can have eight upgrades. Each each time you upgrade an item it has the chance to fail. The failure rate increases the more you exceed the maximum number of upgrades. Failures will result in the item reverting to its original state and the player having to purchase more resources than if they had stopped upgrading after the maximum amount.
If an item does not upgrade the amount of experience in its growth bar is reset to zero. In addition, the item will lose any gained bonuses, including crit chance and attack damage, as well as all other effects that are associated with that effect (for example, increased heal over time or the speed of reloading). The player is able to use their weapon or armor after the failure.
Whenever Cases.gg is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon increases its crit chance it will be applied before any damage to attack increases. A new attribute known as Slots is now added to the definition of the item and the value is computed each time an upgrade is made.
The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is based on the rarity rating as well as the number of upgrade slots.
